Ted Conroy defends criminal and quasi-criminal prosecutions and acts for plaintiffs and defendants in civil lawsuits.

Ted is the firm’s senior counsel.He graduated from the University of Toronto, in 1954 before attending Osgoode Hall. Since his call to the Bar in 1958 he has practiced from Sudbury throughout the Province of Ontario.

During his more than 50 years of practice he has represented over 15 persons accused with murder and countless numbers of persons on lessor offenses. He has special interest in crimes of violence and sexual abuse. This has led him to become knowledgeable in the use (and abuse) of firearms and edged weapons. Over the past 25 years Ted has developed novel statutory constitutional defences to alcohol-related offences such as impaired driving.

Over the course of his practice, Ted participated in several breaking civil suits. In 1988, he was awarded the continuing designation of Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Murray A. Scott

Murray Scott was called to the Ontario bar in 1977 and, as a partner of the firm, he maintains an active solicitor’s practice in real estate, business law, and estate planning. He acted as counsel in the Northern Ontario conversion of an international oil company, local hospital transition, and Northern Ontario distance education re-organization.

Murray is a former Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, an Ontario Crown Corporation which invests one hundred million dollars annually to build strong, prosperous northern communities. He is a former Chair of the Board of Governors of Cambrian College and a former President of the Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers. He is a former President of a local manufacturer of radio-remote control systems used in the mining industry.

Ronald V. Trebb

Ronald V. Trebb is a graduate of both Laurentian University (1975) where he obtained a B.Sc (in physics), and also the University of Windsor (also 1975) where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B). He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1977 and has practiced as a partner of the firm since 1978.

Ron’s present practice focuses primarily upon various aspects of corporate/commercial law. He provides services related to the incorporation, organization, re-organization, amalgamation and dissolution of corporation. He also advises his clients with respect to asset purchase and share purchase type transactions, franchising and licensing arrangements, shareholder agreements and other corporate governance issues His practice also encompasses the provision of necessary professional services to a number of Professional Corporations incorporated for physicians, dentists, barristers and solicitors and other professionals.

In addition, for the better part of 35 years Ron has been active as both a Barrister and Solicitor in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate law. As a barrister, he has been involved in numerous litigious matters between vendors and purchasers, contractors and sub-contractors, principals and agents, and builders and their customers. He has acted for both lenders and borrowers in foreclosure actions, powers of sale proceedings, and other mortgage/security enforcement proceedings. As a solicitor, he has represented clients in numerous major asset acquisitions, asset dispositions, re-financing, leasing, and property development transactions.

Ron has given special lectures at Laurentian University and Cambrian College in Sudbury. He was previously accredited and taught Real Estate Law to real estate agents seeking provincial certification through the Ontario Real Estate Association in various locations throughout Ontario.

Michael R. Macnamara

Michael Macnamara is a graduate of Carleton University in 2007 where he obtained a B.A. (in law) and the University of New South Wales in 2012 in Sydney, Australia, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. He was called to the bar Ontario Bar in January 2014.

Michael practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on estate, real estate and construction lien matters. Michael is a zealous advocate for his clients at all levels of court.

Michael is a champion for the City of Greater Sudbury and its role as the economic and social hub of Northern Ontario. He is heavily involved in the community, including several professional and social associations and is presently the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

Nathaniel T. Oelsner

Nathaniel Oelsner is a graduate of Simon Fraser University where he obtained a B.A. (in political science) and the University of Buckingham in the U.K. where he obtained his bachelor of laws (LL.B.) He was called to the bar in January 2015.

Nathaniel practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. He further provides services relating to real estate transactions, both commercial and residential, along with powers of sale. He also provides corporate services including incorporations, reorganizations, and the purchase and sale of corporations. Finally, he provides services relating to the drafting of both simple and complex wills along with estate administration.

Nathaniel is heavily involved with the local business community, participating on the leadership team of the Business Networking Company and regularly attending events organized by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and the Sudbury District Law Association.

Ashwini D. Kashikar

Ashwini D. Kashikar completed her law studies in India and went on to complete her LL.M. at University of Toronto. She articled with the firm and was called to the Ontario bar in June 2017.

Ashwini’s practice currently focuses on civil and criminal litigation, wills and estate law and real estate law.

Ashwini enjoys being in Northern Ontario. Fluently bilingual, she is happy interacting with the community in both official languages.
